The Beaches of Chia: A Corner of Paradise in Sardinia
The locality of Chia, situated in southern Sardinia, is a true paradise for sea and nature lovers. With its golden sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and untouched natural beauty, Chia offers a unique and unforgettable experience for those seeking relaxation and nature. Here’s an overview of the most beautiful beaches in this enchanting area.
Su Giudeu
Su Giudeu beach is one of the most iconic in Chia, featuring a wide stretch of golden sand and shallow, clear waters. Perfect for families, it offers a breathtaking view with a rocky islet reachable by swimming or walking during low tide. Ideal for those seeking tranquility and long walks along the shore.
Cala Cipolla
This small bay is a hidden gem, surrounded by granite rocks and Mediterranean vegetation. The beach, with fine sand and calm waters, provides a more intimate and secluded environment.
Campana Il Pontile
This is the leftmost section (facing the sea) of Su Giudeu beach, distinguished by the ruins of an old pier.
Dune di Campana
Separated from Campana Il Pontile by a large dune and a small promontory.
Tuerredda
Though slightly farther from the central area of Chia, Tuerredda is one of the most spectacular beaches in the region. With its emerald waters and view of the small island of the same name, it’s perfect for snorkeling and relaxation. Considered one of the best beaches in Sardinia, it offers a truly paradisiacal setting. Due to high summer traffic, access is limited.
Sa Colonia and Monte Cogoni
This is the same beach with two access points. The section under the Chia Tower is called Sa Colonia, while the section accessed from the opposite entrance is called Monte Cogoni. It’s a wide, sandy beach.
Su Portu
A small bay near the Chia campsite.
